[Company strength]
We are the only specialized manufacturer in Japan that deals with lightning countermeasures. We provide surge arresters that protect electric equipment from lightning, from design to implementation, development, and sales. We will take advantage of the wealth of experience we have accumulated for over a half century to defend electrical facilities and equipment from lightning damage. We are working hard to study the natural threat posed by lightning and to protect society. We established the Lightning Technology Center in 2008, which is the only lightning research institute in Japan. We possess test equipment in this facility to simulate induced lightning. This is the only facility of its type in Japan, and includes the world’s largest lightning generator. We can make use of this facility to realize quick inspection and product development.  

[Business description]
Our general-purpose business includes developing, manufacturing, and selling various surge arresters and electronics-applied equipment for rolling stock, airport facilities, important cultural assets, medical facilities, communication facilities, and so on. For the electric power industry we develop, manufacture, and sell various surge arresters utilized by electric power companies. Our engineering business includes consultation on lightning countermeasures, electrical construction, and maintenance and management. In our device business we conduct R&D and manufacture and sell various device products. We provide consignment testing by carrying out various lightning surge tests by using some of Japan’s most prominent test equipment.

[Strength of products/technologies]
Special ceramics are built into various kinds of surge arresters, which is the core of these devices. We are accumulating research on ceramics and working hard every day to improve them on the basis of zinc as a raw material. The manufacturing control of these ceramics is difficult. We provide high-performance, high-quality devices by using automatic production equipment we originally designed based on our many years of experience and knowledge, under strict world-class quality control. We can also develop ceramics according to customer requests.

Our company keeps on running in its mission to protect the smart society from lightning. With the recent so-called abnormal weather there have been a considerable number of news reports on damage due to lightning. The situation is the same in foreign countries. We are confident that we will maintain our progress in the future based on a global point of view.

Our overseas sales department is taking the lead in the export of our products in cooperation with our business bases in Japan and abroad.

The Fourth Monozukuri Nippon Grand Award, Special Award ,for our Lightning Technology Center (2012); Osaka Excellent Invention Award, Osaka Monozukuri Grand Award for Excellent Invention, for our small-size surge arrester for distribution switchboards (2011); the 57th Shibusawa Award, for our 22 kV current limiting arcing horn; 100 Global Niche Top Enterprises, selection as one of seven Next Global Niche companies by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (2013).

We deliver high-voltage surge arresters, low-voltage surge arresters, and various other types of surge arresters to electric power companies, JR companies, the NTT group, and an electrical safety service foundation. We also deliver to NHK, commercial broadcasting corporations, government offices, major railway companies, major electronics-material trading companies, electric appliance manufacturers, and trading companies.
