We are developing a flexible mold to machine steel pipes with a wall thickness of over 2 mm using general-purpose press machines.
Our company manufactures metal press molds. Our advantage is mold manufacturing using 3D-CAD/CAM to meet needs for special metalworking, drawing, and press working. Drawing stainless steel and other hard steel pipes (with a wall thickness of over 2 mm) used to be considered impossible. We are developing a flexible mold (patent pending) to enable such drawing using general-purpose press machines. A major overseas automobile manufacturer employed our mold to machine mufflers for their large trucks.
[Company strength] We use 3D-CAD for designing, so we can see details of simulations of products and molds in stereoscopic vision on a display. We check a mold to be completed and its movement with the customer and discuss further improvement. We produce and deliver molds, and we also propose optimal systems to improve the cost performance of metal pressed products. We also create macro programs for machining using NC machines. Our advantage is manufacturing with imagination and originality in every aspect. [Business description] We have been designing and manufacturing press molds for over 60 years since our foundation. We design and produce press molds to machine steel pipes. We also manufacture joints and ring-shaped products with non-standard dimensions (round parts for bearings, joint clamps, etc.) using general-purpose press machines. We have cultivated a proposal-type corporate culture for many years, which is oriented toward imaginative and original ideas. Complicated, precise metal product working and drawing of difficult-to-process steel pipes is usually dependent on machining centers. However, under our corporate culture we have been committed to producing systems that use general-purpose press machines for such working and drawing to reduce costs and time, and unify quality. [Industry] Press mold manufacturing [Strength of products/technologies] Drawing stainless steel and other hard steel pipes (wall thickness of over 2 mm) used to be considered impossible. We are developing a flexible mold (patent pending) to enable such drawing using general-purpose press machines. This mold will enable (1) free selection of machining positions, and (2) flexible handling of steel pipes with different materials, diameters and wall thicknesses. It will also make it possible to perform (3) drawing of various shapes, and (4) punching outward from inside the pipe. A hydrostatic bulge machine costing several hundred million yen is currently necessary for drawing steel pipes. Implementing this drawing with a general-purpose press machine will greatly reduce costs and remarkably improve versatility. [Representative's message] We have been creating molds since our foundation in 1953. We will continue to create molds based on imaginative and original ideas that please customers. This will be done by merging the technologies we have accumulated for over 60 years with the latest technologies. We believe that the flexible mold we now have under development will be applicable to steel pipes, special steel pipes, and expansion joints mainly for infrastructure. We have financial difficulties, but we will continue to develop technologies and sales channels so that our steel pipes will be anticipated all over the world. [Company structure for market development/overseas expansion] We will continue our current approach to major companies mainly by machining steel pipes with the flexible mold we now have under development. Our green pipe division will answer inquiries from major companies and overseas companies under the leadership of the president in the same manner as before. Our workforce is small, but all of us will cooperate for quick and careful support with the president as the leader. [Market share/Ranking] We have the top market share for machining with a flexible mold because it is the first such technology in the industry.
