[Business description]
 NARD Institute was established in 1972 to provide contract research services to the chemical industry. Although our initial focus was organic synthesis, over the years we have expanded operations to include inorganic and polymer chemistry. Our researchers attend personally to customers' requests, working closely to overcome the challenges of research and development. We are not intimidated by the risks of research, and face its difficulties with resolution. In this way, we have built relationships of trust with our customers in advanced industries ranging from electronics and automobiles, to pharmaceuticals and biotechnology.
In accordance with GMP standards, the ISO9001 accredited NARD Chemicals Ltd. has established a responsible production regime that is implemented consistently from preliminary research to manufacturing. Fine chemical synthesis and development of functional materials, the two main areas of our business, work symbiotically to produce an environment that yields broad-based solutions, tailored to the ever-evolving needs of our customers.
Although modern society is confronted with various environmental and health-related challenges, we believe that science and technology hold the answers. This makes us proud of our contribution to society in our service as researchers.

Our business is to provide support for chemical research and contract synthesis. We do business in all chemical fields, including inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, natural products chemistry, polymer chemistry, and biochemistry. We support research by private companies, universities, and public organizations in many industrial fields related to chemistry. These include the fields of pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, agricultural chemicals, automobiles, electronic materials, and precision equipment. We synthesize and prepare the requested research materials (organic and inorganic). We also investigate synthesis methods (based on a research contract) and submit a report.

[Strength of products/technologies]
Our basic technologies are for synthesizing and compositing organic and inorganic materials. We have been accumulating skills in these fields since our foundation over 40 years ago, by taking on the challenge of riskier subjects while adopting cutting-edge technologies. We have been gaining customer trust by always providing high-quality results. Our many achievements in research are now massive assets for us. The in-house products born from our technical achievements are in niche fields (heat-resistant sheets, hot marking inks, Phos-tag, PET reagent, and so on). However, they have gained great market shares thanks to user support.
Biochemical reagents: We sell Phos-tag, which was jointly developed with Hiroshima University and Manac. Phos-tag enjoys great popularity among bio-researchers around the world and is contributing to their research. We jointly developed a PET reagent (for image diagnosis) with a company and university. This reagent is now on the market, and it is being used by researchers in Japan and abroad.
Heat-resistant sheets: We developed a special heat-resistant coating and are selling heat-resistant coated sheets that are made of carbon fibers or other materials. These sheets are mainly used for protection at worksites, for example, to protect precision equipment from high heat during welding, but there are many more uses. We will continue to market products jointly developed in various fields.

Our company has been supporting chemical research for over 40 years since its establishment in 1972. We have placed importance on a spirit of challenge, and we have been accumulating technologies by aggressively taking on the challenge of even risky subjects. We aim to reduce total research costs (higher success rates and shorter research periods) by always providing customers with high-quality products. We provide integrated services with Nard Chemicals, Ltd., which is capable of smoothly reflecting research results in manufacturing because of their process research functions. We are planning overseas expansion in the future mainly to countries in the West.

Our company has staff for new customers (officers in charge of sales) within the business planning department to deal with major companies and overseas companies. The staff in the life science and material science departments are in charge of sales transactions with existing customers and technical consulting. They directly visit customers for technical reports and meetings to provide immediate customer support.
