We are expanding our surface modification business by making the most of plasma.

We are expanding our surface modification business using plasma nitriding technology that has been proven by our extensive experience in volume metal modification. This includes heat treatment for film super-precision molds and functional parts. Plasma nitriding can exhibit its characteristics on stainless-steel products that require wear resistance or other kinds of strength. This is because treatment at a low temperature level is possible.

[Company strength]
Our company has a history of over 40 years in the consignment heat treatment and surface modification of precision molds. Precision molds and their related parts still account for 70% of the items that we handle. Requirements are becoming more detailed every year for precision molds that are made of various materials and consist of high-mix low-volume parts. Molds that remain in Japan are required to have micron-order accuracy and great endurance. We have brushed up our technologies by meeting severe quality requirements, and we have been accumulating materials and processing know-how for many years. We are confident that our applied technologies will be able to meet customer needs in a wide range of industrial fields.

[Business description]
Our mainline business is mold heat treatment and surface treatment. We now receive many orders for surface modification of precision parts using our plasma technology. This includes nitriding and PVD coating, in a wide range of fields from food processing machines to automotive parts.

[Strength of products/technologies]
We incorporated the latest surface treatment technology earlier than anyone else in Japan, and we possess unique metal modification know-how using environmentally friendly plasma nitriding technology. It is a feature of plasma nitriding that it can improve the wear resistance of stainless steel products without lowering their corrosion resistance. This technology is often adopted for austenite parts related to molds and also to foods. Our cubic masking technology for nitriding is also unique and often adopted for mirror finishing and drawing. We are proceeding with investment and development for new surface modification technologies. In mid-2014 we added the most up-to-date large furnaces to establish 24-hour plasma nitriding with eight furnaces in total. In 2015 we implemented the latest carbon composite film technology. This film can be made 3 μ or thicker, unlike conventional DLC film. It realizes high corrosion resistance and wear resistance, and also high endurance with a friction coefficient as low as 0.05 or less. We are capable of handling products for a wide range of fields and are ready to accept your inquiries.

We initiated a structure improvement plan in 2007. Our heat treatment and surface modification are now applied to precision molds and also to metal products in a wide range of fields.
