Koga Sangyo Co., Ltd.
We are cultivating both the domestic and overseas quick freezing/cooling device markets.
Our company is a food and industrial machinery manufacturer that was established in 1969. The 3DFreezer (quick freezing/cooling device) is our main product, and we are expanding our business in this field. 3D refrigeration involves cooling/freezing foods from all directions to create uniform ice crystals. After the refrigeration process at -40 to -45 °C, foods can be retained in ordinary refrigeration storage. Our products save energy consumption by more than 20%, while ensuring a high degree of hygiene and safety. Our freezers have been adopted by major food manufacturers in Japan, as well as overseas companies in China, Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand.
Other presentation
[Company strength] Our 3DFreezer is an air blast type freezer, but it adopts world-patented heat exchange technology that realizes 3D refrigeration. 3D refrigeration can freeze foods that were previously impossible to freeze, with ultra-high quality. Refrigeration tests are available anywhere in Japan upon the customer's request. We can also manufacture made-to-order products, according to the customer's specifications. [Business description] Our company mainly manufactures and sells the 3DFreezer (quick freezing/cooling device) in the food machinery field. Our freezers have been introduced by many food production businesses. Our abundant lineup consists of a wide variety of products, including the stationary type and medium-sized batch type, in addition to serial tunnel freezers and spiral freezers for factory lines. [Industry] Food and industrial machinery manufacturing [Strength of products/technologies] 3D refrigeration involves extremely minimized frosting on the cooling device to blow high-humidity cold air at food from all directions. Uniform ice crystals are created with such air, for cooling/freezing foods with ultra-high quality. This -40 to -45 °C range is generally called the quick-freezing temperature range. Any foods that undergo this process can retain their high 3D refrigeration quality in ordinary refrigeration storage. In addition, dehydration in storage is minimized with this freezer. This enhances the yield rate and suppresses frost deposition on the cooling device, which is also effective in reducing the load on the freezing device and saving energy (over 20%). All our 3DFreezer products have a ductless structure to ensure thorough cleaning, and extremely high hygiene and safety. [Representative's message] We have expanded our sales area in the recent years. Our headquarters is located in Yamaguchi Prefecture, and we have sales offices in Sapporo, Sendai, Nagano, Tokyo, and Kyoto, covering all regions of Japan. These offices respond to inquiries and possible business in an agile manner. They have 3DFreezer test models in the office, so a freezer can be brought to the customer's site by car for a refrigeration test. We hope to enhance our sales expansion efforts regarding Japanese companies that have frozen food processing plants overseas, especially in China and Thailand. [Company structure for market development/overseas expansion] We have a number of ongoing dealings with major companies annually, which we manage on an as-needed basis. If dealings with major companies increase, we plan to assign a project manager to each project. There will be a person responsible for the project who ensures proper follow-up and services, and earns the customer's trust. [Market share/Ranking] We have acquired 2% of the market, although the total number of sales has reached 1,000 units. [Awards and media coverage] [Awards] The 5th Monozukuri (Manufacturing) Nippon Grand Award competition, Director-General’s Award (2013); the 17th Chugoku Region New Business Grand Prize competition, Award of Excellence (2009); the 4th Nippon New Business Creation Award competition, Award of Excellence (2009). [Media] Nikkei, Minato Shimbun, Suisan-Keizai Daily News, Suisan Shinbun, and so on. [Authorization/Certification] ISO 9001. [Joint research and development] Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology: Differences in frost deposition properties among freezers with differing heat exchange methods; presentation at an academic meeting in 2009. [Main Clients / Business History (domestic)] Major food manufacturers listed in the first or second section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange, major general contractors, major trading houses, and so on. [Main Clients / Business History (overseas)] China, Korea, Thailand, and Taiwan.
