TOYOSEIKO CO.,LTD.

We contribute to the industry by improving the durability of metallic components through the shot peening process.

The shot peening process is a technology in which small grains of steel or other metal (shots) successively impact the surface of a metallic material. We manufacture and sell the shot grains used in this processing technology. We are expanding our business both in Japan and overseas. Our manufacturing site in Thailand has been increasing its sales volume since its establishment in 2011. We have developed a coverage measuring instrument (Coverage Checker) that makes it possible to check the quality of shot peening products, and non-destructive testing equipment that uses positrons. These products further enhance the reliability of the shot peening process, thereby responding to various needs from industry.

[Product description] Processing costs (consumption, processing hours, and so on) are reduced significantly because of its high durability. The material is homogenous in grain size and hardness, which contributes to quality improvement. It creates a very small amount of shredding (reduces dust). It can improve the work environment, and industrial waste is reduced, resulting in a reduction in the environmental burden. This also helps when applying for ISO 14001 certification. High-hardness Conditioned Cut Wire is ideal for hard peening when the goal is to add high compressive stress. The HV 800 shot in this product line is at the world-class level (we can manufacture up to HV 950). Low Hardness Cut Wires (HV 150 and HV 250) are for blasting. They can be used without damaging the blast machine, which reduces the amount of consumption and maintenance costs. [Market share/Ranking] Acquired 95% of the domestic Japanese market, and 30% of the overseas market. [Authorization/Certification] Acquired ISO 9001 certification (October 3, 1997). Registered on the supplier list after gaining approval from aircraft manufacturers (Boeing, Bombardier, Embraer, Geae, and P&W).

[Product description] Positrons generated from radioisotopes are easily captured in the missing parts of materials. This equipment uses this property to measure the extent of defects within the material (configuration of the controlled area is unnecessary). Checks the quality after shot peening. Detects defects from machining (seizure). Checks the quality of heat treatment, such as case-hardening and annealing. Checks the quality of surface coating such as plating. Detects metal fatigue (Stage 1 before crack initiation). [Intellectual property] Method and Device for Measuring the Life of Positrons (Japanese Patent No. 3903112). Method and Device for Measuring the Extinction Property of Positrons (Japanese Patent Publication No. 2012-127942). [Major facilities and equipment] Method and device for measuring the life of positrons. Measuring device that incorporates the Doppler broadening method.

[Product description] Reduces variation in measurements according to the inspectors in charge. It can measure narrow parts where it is hard for shots to hit, and the coverage inside coil springs. Coverage within holes can be measured using a dedicated nozzle. Coverage measurement usually requires experience and skill. However, this device allows inexperienced staff to measure easily (it is also useful as a training tool for shot peening management). [Market share/Ranking] This is the world’s first device for this kind of inspection. The product has acquired 100% of the market both in Japan and overseas. [Intellectual property] Coverage Measuring Device (Japanese Patent Publication No. 2011-152603). [Major facilities and equipment] Coverage Checker.

[Product description] Pin type: Enables shotless peening (projection material is unnecessary). The pins are heavier than conventional shots (projection materials), which creates larger energy for fabrication. We can enhance the fatigue strength and durability of steel structures by peening around welded areas on a steel structure with this pin type device. Ball type: Generates a peening effect by making the projection materials (steel balls) bounce on a vibrating tool by means of ultrasonic wave vibration. The ball type device is space-saving, and realizes clean work, without making a mess. [Major facilities and equipment] Stress Voyager (1-pin type, multiple-pin type, and ball type). Stress Sonic (ball type).

[Product description] We can select optimal peening processing conditions for processing aircraft parts, gear components, and springs, as well as shot processing, based on selected data from years of joint research with universities. We can accept processing orders from small lots. We can offer support from the condition configuration phase, and receive processing orders up to the start of mass production. We welcome orders for trial manufacturing based on consultations to achieve required residual stress and surface properties. [Authorization/Certification] Nadcap (Surface Enhancement) certification (March 29, 2007). Acquired AS9100C certification (January 14, 2008). [Major facilities and equipment] For aircraft parts: Air type (2 units), and impeller type (2 units). For automobile and general machinery components: Air type (5 units), and impeller type (2 units).
