We develop and manufacture solid laser devices and optical measuring instruments that incorporate lasers.

We develop various kinds of equipment utilizing light. The laser light source, which is the most important element in optical measuring instruments, is developed in-house. This is how we can manufacture an optimal light source for any application to develop high-performance optical measuring instruments. Our magnetic body evaluation devices have been favorably received by researchers. This has resulted in our gaining a share of the domestic Japanese market that is close to 100%. We hope to make products in new fields, such as healthcare and the environment, while developing lasers to enhance their reliability.

[Company strength]
We develop and manufacture laser light sources in-house. These are the most important elements in optical measuring instruments. We have many engineers within the organization who are experts in optics-related fields. This helps us in retaining high technological capability in developing, designing, and manufacturing various devices that incorporate light. We have connections with researchers in universities and national laboratories in various fields, and they provide us with technological assistance whenever they can. In 2009 we successfully applied for certification under METI’s Strategic Core Technology Advancement Program, which continued in the following years (2010 and 2011).

We develop, manufacture, and sell He-Ne lasers and solid laser devices as well as optical measuring instruments that incorporate lasers, such as laser Doppler vibrometers. We manufacture and sell macro machining devices that utilize lasers, magnetic body evaluation devices that utilize light, and high-frequency resistors. We develop, manufacture, and sell custom-made equipment ordered by universities, national laboratories, and private enterprises. We have developed many new technologies jointly with universities and national laboratories.

[Strength of products/technologies]
We develop lasers that can be used as length references (the meter standard). We develop laser light sources in-house, so we can develop high-performance optical measuring or processing devices by manufacturing an optimal light source for a given application. Our magnetic body evaluation devices have been well received by researchers. This has resulted in our gaining a share of the domestic Japanese market that is close to 100%. We have recently received high praise for our evaluation device for spintronics devices such as MRAM, which is currently under development.

Our company was established in 1975 under the slogan “Endless Challenges in Laser Technology.” Since then we have been providing whatever our customers need through laser technologies in domestic Japanese and overseas markets so as to prove worthy of their trust. We develop reliable products using laser technology, which is “the greatest invention of the twentieth century.” We will continue to develop lasers, laser-related products, magneto-optical measuring devices, and other products in new fields, such as electronics, nanotechnology, healthcare, and the environment. 

[Company structure for market development/overseas expansion]
Our sales department, plant, and managers have been working together in responding to inquiries from major enterprises. Inquiries from major enterprises are first examined in the sales department. If some development is involved, our engineers working in the plant accompany the sales representative to the customer’s site. They meet with the customer to establish the specifications before finalizing the order. Our sales department has personnel in charge of overseas customers. They actively prepare for overseas exhibitions and have meetings together with accompanying engineers. We are currently sorting out classifications under the Export Trade Control Ordinance.
