Eidensha Co. Ltd.

We have developed a hollow-fiber bioreactor compact high-speed nitrogen remover.

We developed high-performance equipment capable of removing nitrogen from high-nitrogen-concentration effluent. Our hollow-fiber bioreactor does not require a large space. It can remove high concentrations of nitrogen faster than the conventional nitrogen removal equipment. Power saving is also a great advantage. We aim to extend sales mainly to factories that have problems with high ammonia or nitric acid concentration effluent.

[Company strength]
Our nitrogen removal system can be installed in a compact form and with a small investment in equipment. We anticipate extending our business to semiconductor factories that discharge high-nitrogen-concentration effluent. We think our business is distinctive compared to other manufacturers. Our equipment is based on a nitrogen removal method using a hollow-fiber bioreactor. It was developed by Professor Chiaki Hatanaka of the National Institute of Technology, Kitakyushu College. We planned and developed this equipment using our electric instrumentation and control technologies and bio-environment purification know-how.

[Business description]
Our company designs and sells equipment for high-speed removal of nitrogen from high-nitrogen-concentration effluent. Reactor equipment using hollow fibers removes nitrogen in effluent from factories and the like. Our main intended customers are factories that have difficulty in handling high ammonium or nitric acid concentration effluent.

[Industry]
Effluent treatment and general electric utility industry

[Strength of products/technologies]
Our equipment has a number of unique features not available in other devices:
(1) High nitrogen removal capability.
(2) Capable of handling high-concentration nitrogen.
(3) Compact installation.
(4) Power saving.
The equipment can be installed as part of an existing plant at a business establishment. Power saving using technologies from our main electrical equipment business is also one of our advantages.

[Representative's message]
Nitrogen in effluent is a cause of red tide and blue-green algae, some forms of which are harmful to the human body. This is why an integrated standard for nitrogen in effluent (100 mg/L or less) was enacted in 2001. However, many companies are having difficulty in taking action at once. This is because there are many small companies in the industries that discharge comparatively high concentrations of nitrogen. Current nitrogen removal equipment requires extensive space for installation and has high costs. We developed our hollow-fiber bioreactor to solve these problems. This equipment removes high concentrations of nitrogen faster than conventional nitrogen removal equipment.

[Company structure for market development/overseas expansion]
The bio-environment business department and all other departments of our company provide support for customers. This includes the technical department and the general affairs department.
