[Company strength]
We particularly excel in large sizes of all bearings.  We have developed products and technologies and enhanced our quality over the years through relationships of trust with top  Japanese manufacturers.  We have also succeeded in creating new products using metals through joint research and development projects with academic research institutes.  Our strengths lie in our capabilities that we have built on our long accumulated experience, quality, and technology for 95 years since our foundation.  We are also striving to create products through cooperation with our clients and joint projects with universities,  and give top priority to keeping our delivery promises to our customers.

[Business description]
We mainly manufacture bearings used in thermal, nuclear, hydraulic power plants as well as those for marine engines of cargo ships including car carriers and tankers.  We have diversified our business through research into metals we use in making our bearings, as well as developing high purity metals for use in compound semiconductors  and alloys that melt at as low as 16 degrees Celsius.  We have our headquarters, development center, and two machining plants in Osaka Prefecture, and have built a new plant in Kobe, which is dedicated to machining work with large equipment.  We also have trading subsidiaries in Tokyo and Osaka and an analysis center in Osaka, with whom we conduct all business activities including sales, development,  manufacture, and quality control.

[Strength of products/technologies]
We have successfully developed first-class bearings with finer crystals after repeated experiments in actual size settings to enhance functionality and durability against fatigue.   These bearings have been since then adopted as the main bearings of marine diesel engines, and are highly praised.  We have also succeeded in developing high purity manganese through joint research projects with universities.  We are now the world's only supplier of this high purity metal, and are highly regarded by users  across the world for the product's quality and our capability to provide a stable supply.

We manufacture highly public products used in power generation, an indispensable industry for our everyday lives.  We also supply items for ships, which are also essential for the world's logistics.  Our materials are a key element for sophisticated electronic parts, and through their provision, we support cultural lives.  We consider it important to preserve our traditions and hand them over to the next generations, and to focus on development of new technologies and products.  Reliability and performance are crucial aspects for bearings, therefore we intend to maintain our relationships of trust with our existing clients  in expanding our distribution network overseas.  We also aim to gather more information on new materials for our high purity metals, and as part of this effort for market development, we will participate in exhibitions both in Japan and overseas.

Our Bearings Sales Department is in charge of transactions related to bearings.  For other alloys and high purity metals, our Alloys Sales Department as well as Osaka Asahi Co.  Ltd. and Osaka Asahi Metals Co. Ltd., our affiliate companies, handle transactions in tandem, including responding to queries from major domestic and overseas corporations.  Technical questions will be addressed by our specialists in the Manufacturing Department, with support from the Research and Development Department whenever necessary.
