Saturable coil that we have developed in-house

Macome products use saturable coil technology based on highly sensible, reliable magnetism-sensing devices that we have developed in-house. Based on a simple principle, the technology promises accurate action and prolonged stable performance even under severe operating conditions and adverse circumstances.

Saturable coils undergo great differences and quick changes in inductance according to whether they are saturated or unsaturated. As a result, high-precision sensing can be obtained. This feature is determined by the high magnetic permeability and holding power of permalloy and the shape of the coil. To achieve greater changes in inductance, you have only to reduce the demagnetizing factor of the core. The latter can be reduced by making the coil thin and long. You can also be more creative about the core shape to give it the ability to make even quicker, greater changes. 

Moreover, making the core thin and long gives it shape magnetic anisotropy, thereby causing it to become strongly magnetized with respect to an axial external magnetic field alone. You can therefore use the coil wound around the circumference of the core to easily sense only the axial component from the magnetic component applied.
