Our company manufactures automotive parts by fine blanking (FB). Automotive parts manufactured by FB are critical for vehicle safety and reliability. Our FB automotive part production is in the top rank in Japan. We advanced into the United States with our technologies and track record that were successively adopted by General Motors and the other two Big Three manufacturers. This processing produces smooth shear planes without machining. Our unique technologies include thick plate precision blanking technology and minimum profile-hole spacing blanking technology. We propose an optimal method starting from the part design stage. Our company was selected by the Small and Medium Enterprises Agency for 300 of Japan's Vibrant Monozukuri (Manufacturing) SMEs.
[Company Strengths] Our company possesses the largest number of FB press machines in Japan, which are supporting our FB business. We have 32 machines in Japan and 20 machines in the United States. Our machines range from 250 tons to as large as 1,200 tons. FB is applied to thick metal plates, so molds are severely damaged and it is necessary to accumulate unique know-how for mold manufacturing. This is why we are promoting joint research with a university and even a competitor to develop and commercialize lubricants reducing mold damage, mold materials, and surface treatment technology. [Business Description] Our company has strength regarding fine blanking (FB). FB parts are critical parts indispensable for automobile safety and reliability. We maintain top-level FB part production output. We advanced into Louisville, Kentucky in the US with our technologies and track record. Now our products are used by General Motors and the other two Big Three manufacturers. [Industry] Automotive part manufacturing, and precision mold design and manufacturing [Product and Technical Strengths] FB has four features. It makes smooth shear planes available without machining, achieves shape accuracy about equivalent to machining, enables 3D shape forming, and has superiority in manufacturing products that require high planarity. Our unique technologies include thick plate precision blanking technology and minimum profile-hole spacing blanking technology. We have blanked 19-mm-thick plates. We apply our many years of experience to propose optimal methods in terms of quality, cost, and function from the part design stage. [Representative's Message] Our company has been totally devoted to technical development and rationalization while contributing to society with excellent mold supply as our mission since our establishment in 1967. We design and manufacture precision molds, so we do not rely on traditional craftsman’s experience or senses. We design precision molds mainly by CAD/CAM with a grounding in theory and using the latest equipment. We also focus on dividing the processing work. We will establish a system for various kinds of automatic press working and make more efforts to craft human resources and develop technologies as a company with global competitiveness. [In-house System for Market Cultivation and Overseas Expansion] There is a great trend for local procurement outside Japan, but FB still has a lot more potential. We are actively working in Japan based on our core technologies to develop new fields and develop processing technologies with high added value by incorporating peripheral technologies. We are educating engineers with higher skills and expertise and establishing a system following market trends capable of meeting customer requests. Our goal in making use of these activities is further development in Japan and abroad. [Market Share and Rank] We have a Japanese market share of about 40% for disk brake pads and 10% for clutch plates.
