MOLEN was established in 1997 with the purposes of importing and selling “mechanical paper crafts” from England and Germany, designing made-to-order paper crafts, and manufacturing and selling development diagrams and assembly illustrations. In parallel, with the purpose of disseminating artistic quality and technology of modern Britain’s automata, we searched public facilities all over Japan for venues for organizing exhibitions, and have achieved holding more than 40 exhibitions. In recent years, pursuing the origin of the revival of Monozukuri craftsmanship, we are working on the development of original mechanism models, and are committed to delivering these products to automakers and auto parts manufacturers in their designated specifications.

Overview of main products and technologies
1. Exhibition operation for automata We plan and run “England’s Contemporary Automata Exhibition.” By analyzing fundamental data, such as the demographics of the region where the exhibition is held, the area of the exhibition venue and access to the exhibition venue, and based on our rich experience in holding exhibitions, we propose optimal plans for your budget. Exhibitions for automata require diverse experiences and expertise. We have strength in everything concerning exhibitions, from planning, dedicated furniture and fixtures, lighting equipment, wiring, delivery/installation, removal/unloading, communication, operation, posters/leaflets to designing of vertical banners, which we support with our unique producing ability. 2. Exhibition operation for lift-the-flap books We organize and operate “the lift-the-flap book exhibition” with exhibits including the original “lift-the-flap book” from 120 years ago to works by Robert Sabuda. We provide proposals for optimal plans ranging from large halls to small spaces depending on the budget. Exhibitions require diverse experiences and expertise. We have strength in everything concerning exhibitions, from planning, dedicated furniture and fixtures, lighting equipment, wiring, delivery/installation, removal/unloading, communication, operation, posters/leaflets to designing of vertical banners, which we support with our unique producing ability. 3. Drawing for paper crafts We produce made-to-order paper crafts to meet customers’ requests. We create designs, development diagrams and assembly instructions.
