Katayama Corp.
We are experts at handling all types of requests for fine ceramic machining.
We fabricate and sell fine ceramic parts, as well as various kinds of dies. We excel at highly accurate precision machining of long or large ceramic parts of over 1,000 mm, with, for example, an outstanding straightness of 3 µm in a 3,000 mm-long alumina bar. We can handle any dies including aluminum die-casting dies, plastic injection molding dies, pressing dies, rubber molding dies, and so forth. We have numerous experiences in responding to requests such as for the development of a die according to a drawing or a sample, and material conversion. We can deliver our products from our subsidiary companies in the US, or conduct trial production in Japan and provide mass-production dies to the affiliated firms of customers in the US through our subsidiaries.

[Company strength] Our company has continuously engaged in manufacturing in our 90-year history. We have learned various machining processes and have accumulated unrivaled know-how, enabling us to perform ultra-highly accurate precision machining of large ceramic parts. We also have our own know-how of die production based on a wealth of experience, and so we can respond to requests such as for the development of a die from a drawing sheet. Our subsidiary companies in the US provide dies, die maintenance parts, and molded products to support customers who have affiliated firms in the US. [Business description] We excel at fabricating fine ceramic parts, especially machining large parts of over 1,000 mm. Our die manufacturing department started with the fabrication of heat-resistant brick dies and tile dies. We can now handle any dies, including aluminum die-casting dies, plastic injection molding dies, pressing dies, rubber molding dies, and epoxy resin molding dies, which are fabricated in our integrated process from design to finishing. Our subsidiary companies in the US produce not only dies but also molded parts which are supplied to customers mainly in the automobile and medical industries. [Industry] Fabrication and sales of fine ceramic parts, and production and sales of various kinds of dies [Strength of products/technologies] We provide highly accurate ceramic machining with an accuracy of straightness of 3 µm in a span length of 3,000 mm, and also provide inspection tools such as straight edges and square masters. Moreover, we perform precision machining, for example, piercing a hole with a minimum diameter of 0.2 mm by using a high-precision grinding center. We can machine alumina, zirconia, SiC, MMC, etc. We also provide dies which are optimized for the production lines in customers’ facilities by experienced design engineers using precision machining skills and the know-how of our parts production to help reduce production costs. [Representative's message] We effectively respond to customers by our sales staff stationed at two plants in Japan and have an annual domestic sales target of one billion yen. We will increase the number of overseas staff to four by adding two Japanese in order to better support the affiliated firms of Japanese customers, and will enhance our American staff to develop channels to American companies.
