We have established a continuous feeding piping work method using liquid nitrogen.
We are a piping work enterprise that handles exchanging underground water pipes, piping work in facilities and factories, installation of water supplies and drainage pipes for condominiums, and so on. We have established a freezing method for continuous water feeding by using liquid nitrogen. This is done to finish piping work quickly at sites where it is not possible to cut off the water supply for an extended period. This includes facilities such as hospitals that operate 24 hours a day, and large-scale condominiums where draining and filling are difficult. Liquid nitrogen is used for freezing. This method has the advantage that it can support situations requiring urgent work or simultaneous piping work at many portions. This is because the pipe interiors are frozen from the outside using a dedicated container. Representative cases of implementing this method involved piping work in a downtown area with many buried water pipes and a concentration of core organizations in the metropolitan area.

The freezing method cools a pipe from the outside and freezes water inside to block the internal waterflow as a temporary valve substitute. The work procedure is simple and enables work even in a small place. The installation time, period, and cost can be reduced because the need for water draining and filling in installation can be omitted.
Our company handles pipes with small diameters from about 20 to 50 mm to large ones over 500 mm. We can install these products throughout Japan 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. *We also have a track record of installation work outside Japan.
[Company strength] Liquid nitrogen is required for the freezing method which is our main system. Liquid nitrogen is a difficult-to-preserve gas because it readily vaporizes, but we made it possible to continuously hold liquid nitrogen by installing dedicated tanks at our in-house site. This is why we have the advantage of being able to instantly handle situations that require urgent on-site work, and piping work for many portions at the same time. We have a unit for R&D, so we can develop and design new implementation systems based on customer requests. We succeed in freezing work with ductile cast iron diameter-500 pipes in 2014. We are also improving our technology so that we can handle work involving pipes with larger diameters. [Business description] We offer in-house work covering various continuous water feeding methods, including freezing. These are work methods that minimize the water service interruption area during water pipe improvement, changes in pipe laying, valve repairs, and new installation. We receive requests from waterworks departments and autonomous governing bodies. We also carry out work as a subcontractor of private companies such as equipment system sub-contractors for air conditioning and piping and general contractors. We mainly cover these two cases, and we offer our services to customers in various fields. [Industry] Piping work [Strength of products/technologies] The freezing method differs from continuous water feeding methods using mechanical equipment. The liquid in the pipe is cooled from the exterior surface by storing liquid nitrogen in a surrounding styrene container, which is processed and mounted according to the on-site piping. This is why it can be said that our method has advantages in workability and efficiency. We handled a case in which SGP diameter-200 pipes were simultaneously frozen at 14 locations in order to prevent backflow from upper floors while exchanging valves and headers. We have little or no time lag from order reception to construction, unlike similar methods from other companies. It is characteristic of our system that on-site support is possible even in cases of high urgency (quick delivery). [Representative's message] Our company’s mission is first to complete safe and secure work with the goal of establishing more reliable technology. We also aim to discover potential customer needs and link them to new technology development. This is still a niche technology, but we hope to use the J-GoodTech system as a catalyst to enhance awareness of our technology. We are targeting companies that were not directly aware of our method, as well as specialized work industries. We also have confidence that our technology is particularly necessary for facility mangers of enterprises that have large-scale factories. [Company structure for market development/overseas expansion] Our general affairs and sales departments always share information about new clients and points of inquiry by making use of cloud-based and other systems introduced by our company. Both sales staff and on-site engineers or R&D laboratory staff will directly visit the customer when we receive an inquiry from a major customer, or provide appropriate support. Recently we have been working to take on new graduates in order to secure and develop new engineers. We also focus on technology innovation to enhance the safety and effectiveness of our existing implementation systems, and R&D for this purpose.
