Laplace System Co., Ltd.
We have a high market share in the field of business-use solar power generation monitoring system.
We develop and sell power generation monitoring systems for solar power and other recyclable energies and power output simulation software. We analyze a variety of data measurements and provide easy-to-understand display contents to meet customers’ power generator specifications and related needs. We supply power generation systems to solar power plants, offices, and schools, provide content for signage systems in airports and stations, and provide visualization systems for wind power plants and geothermal power generation. We have transactions with over 1,300 companies and are one of the industry’s top in introducing industrial solar power generation systems. We actively promote overseas business expansion.
[Company strength] We started advanced software development in the science and technology field soon after our foundation and currently provide power generation monitoring system SolarLink series and power generation simulation software, with our focus put on recyclable energy ahead of other companies. Our strength lies in detailed data measurement of solar power generation equipment, remote control, and response to a variety of PCS/battery manufacturers in and out of Japan. We are among the industry’s top in supplying industrial solar power generation systems. We provide easy-to-understand display content and can customize them depending on the users and installation environment. We opened our own call center in 2013 to reinforce our system of after-sale support. [Business description] We conduct development, sale and after-sale support of power generation monitoring systems for solar power and other recyclable energies and power output simulation software. We analyze a variety of data measurement and provide easy-to-understand display contents to meet customers’ power generator specifications and related needs. We supply solar power generation systems to various kinds of industrial solar power plants, ranging in scale from low-power to mega solar, and to offices, factories, schools, city halls and other public facilities, provide signage systems associated with solar power use in airports and stations, and develop visualization systems for wind power plants and geothermal power generation. We also supply our services abroad (Nicaragua, Brunei, Ghana, Gabon, Laos, etc.) in ODA contracts. [Industry] IT and software development [Strength of products/technologies] Our monitoring products can show data graphically by the minute and download data. Detailed failure of power generation equipment that cannot be detected by simple sensors can also be notified by e-mail. For our remote monitoring system (which was marketed in July 2012), we provide string monitoring capability that can more accurately detect failing locations and the capability of multiple site monitoring. We help minimize power generation loss by adding a new capability “failure diagnosis” that determines reduction in power output using our own algorithm. Our simulation technology analyzes impacts of buildings and panels in 3D representation. We propose optimal panel arrangement. Our product has superior operability, including incorporation of digital maps, and is upgraded regularly. [Representative's message] In the field of IT system related to solar power generation, we are a trailblazer in Japan and still maintain the top market share. In the future, we plan to actively expand our sales in foreign countries. In this respect, we set up a local company in USA. We are actively participating in exhibitions in USA, India, and Southeast Asia and signing tie-ups with local companies. We have already provided our sales in those foreign countries. In Japan, we plan to expand our business ranges into home-use solar power generation, other recyclable energy systems, agriculture and infrastructure fields. We actively conduct sales promotions including exhibitions. [Company structure for market development/overseas expansion] We set up a sales office in Fukuoka to expand sales channels in the Kyushu area (October 2015). Our Tokyo branch office was relocated due to the increase in the number of employees. We are reinforcing the sales power in he Kanto area. (April 2015) We set up our US subsidiary, Laplace Systems, Inc. (CA, June 2015). This company is engaged in product development, sales, and marketing activities centering on USA and Canada. [Market share/Ranking] We have the highest market share in the field of industrial solar power generation monitoring. [Awards and media coverage] [Awards] Received Kyoto SME Excellent Technology Award (to our generation simulation software “Solar Pro”) in 2003 and awarded Kyoto prefecture Environmental Top Runner commendation in 2010 Awarded Kyo bis Grand Prize, KBS Kyoto “kyo biz,” in 2012 [Media] Nihon Keizai Shimbun (Kinki Economy B page, July 18, 2015), PVeye (“Inside News,” July 2015 issue), Kyoto Shimbun (Oct. 24, 2014) [Authorization/Certification] Kyoto city’s Oscar Certified Company (2012) [Joint research and development] Joint R&D of wind power generation simulation software with Kyoto Institute of Technology NEDO Smart Community Demonstration Project (joint demonstration of battery-equipped power generation system with Oshawa Power and Utilities Corporation and Tabuchi Electric Company of America, Oshawa city, Canada) National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (collection of various data using our own measurement system and verification of remote updating by remote access) [Main Clients / Business History (domestic)] We have conducted business with over 1,300 companies of various types and sizes, including major solar power panel manufacturers, design and building companies (EPC), electric material trading firms, housing manufacturers, builders, and O&M companies. While our monitoring system business route is B2B, we have direct contracts with end users for remote monitoring, which is an ASP service. [Main Clients / Business History (overseas)] Overseas sales agents: Dahan Tech Inc. (South Korea), Lawson Transworld Inc. (Taiwan), Malaysia branch of Mikimoto Co., Ltd. (Malaysia), and Rogress Boeki Co., Ltd. (India)
