YamamotoVinita Co., Ltd.
We develop cancer thermotherapy devices by using dielectric heating.
We are a device manufacturer using dielectric heating technology for self-heating a dielectric (insulator excluding metal) by radio waves. Dielectric heating offers excellent characteristics of speed, uniform heating and high heating efficiency. We have also entered the medical field, and have succeeded in developing a hyperthermia device (cancer thermotherapy device) by high-frequency heating.
[Company strength] We have developed and implemented practical devices for heating, drying, bonding, casting, thawing, etc. as the leading manufacturer of dielectric heating devices in Japan for more than 60 years since our foundation. We can handle various materials including plastics, wood, foods, rubber, and ceramics. We succeeded in developing the world’s first hyperthermia device (cancer thermotherapy device) by high-frequency heating. We are good at proposing solutions to customers’ heating requirements and developing the necessary devices. [Business description] We are a device manufacturer using dielectric heating technology for heating objects by radio waves (high-frequency waves, microwaves). We manufacture and sell industrial machines for heating, drying, etc. in a broad range of fields. We also manufacture and sell medical devices for cancer treatment. [Industry] Manufacturing [Strength of products/technologies] Dielectric heating (high-frequency heating, microwave heating) is a technology for self-heating a dielectric (an insulator excluding metal). This type of heating has excellent characteristics such as faster heating, uniform heating and higher heating efficiency in comparison with conventional heating by steam, hot air, resistance, etc. Our products are used for diverse applications such as heating, drying, bonding, casting, thawing, and disinfection, and for diverse materials including plastics, wood, foods, rubber and ceramics. We develop and implement various kinds of heating devices based on this dielectric heating technology. [Representative's message] We are the world’s leading manufacturer in the niche market of dielectric heating. We are especially good at using dielectric heating to solve customers’ difficult technical problems related to heating, and we receive many domestic and international technical inquiries. Japan accounts for nearly 90% of our market to date, but we now intend to expand globally overseas. [Company structure for market development/overseas expansion] We have established the “Overseas Monozukuri (manufacturing) Preparatory Office” with a view to overseas production, and are conducting new development. We have exported mainly through major domestic trading companies so far, and are now seeking sales agents particularly in China and Southeast Asia to develop direct channels. [Market share/Ranking] We are the leading company having a market share of more than 50% for industrial dielectric heating devices (excluding plasma). Our hyperthermia device is the only one available. [Awards and media coverage] [Awards] Small and Medium Enterprise Center Award in 1989, Pioneer of the Year in 1992, Wood Processing Technique Award and Forest Technology Award in 2003, Prize of Director General of Forestry Agency in 2004, Osaka Monozukuri Award in 2009, Superior Report Corporation in 2011 (for 45 consecutive years), Prize of Director General of National Tax Agency in 2013, and many other awards [Media] NHK TV program “Luzon no Tsubo (Luzon’s pot)” (broadcasted on August 29, 2010), and in many other media [Authorization/Certification] ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 [Joint research and development] Faculty of Medicine, Kyoto University (hyperthermia), Faculty of Agriculture, Kyoto University (wood processing), Tohoku University (food processing), Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology (food thawing), Faculty of Agriculture, Kyushu University and Nara Forest Research Institute (wood drying), Institute of Physical and Chemical Research, and many other organizations [Main Clients / Business History (domestic)] Kanematsu KGK Corp., Toyotsu Machinery Corporation, Itochu Machine-Technos Corporation, Sumitomo Shoji Machinex Co., Ltd. [Main Clients / Business History (overseas)] We have a long and proven track record of exporting many industrial devices and medical equipment mainly to China and Southeast Asian countries.
