We contribute to the industry by improving the durability of metallic components through the shot peening process.
The shot peening process is a technology in which small grains of steel or other metal (shots) successively impact the surface of a metallic material. We manufacture and sell the shot grains used in this processing technology. We are expanding our business both in Japan and overseas. Our manufacturing site in Thailand has been increasing its sales volume since its establishment in 2011. We have developed a coverage measuring instrument (Coverage Checker) that makes it possible to check the quality of shot peening products, and non-destructive testing equipment that uses positrons. These products further enhance the reliability of the shot peening process, thereby responding to various needs from industry.
[Company strength] The shot peening process is used for improving the durability of metal components. Our Conditioned Cut Wire has been used in automobile-related factories both in Japan and overseas, as well as in the aircraft industry, for more than 30 years. We developed a renewed product in 2007 to enhance the durability, and it has gained overwhelming popularity from users as an effective cost-cutting measure. Since then, it has acquired a further share of the market as a result of marketing targeting both Japanese and overseas user companies. We have also developed the Coverage Checker: the world's first inspection equipment to enhance the reliability of peening processing. We are trying to distribute it globally through our partners in the US, France, and Canada, since there is no competition for this product. [Business description] We manufacture and sell shot media for shot peening processes. We have also developed a coverage measuring instrument (Coverage Checker) for measuring the coverage of shot peening, and Positron Surface Analyzer. Our other services include shot peening processing on contract, residual stress measuring as a quality check, and needle peening equipment sales (ultrasonic type). [Industry] Metal product manufacturing [Strength of products/technologies] We can help customers with a special process called shot peening, and support all phases from trial manufacturing to mass production. We can customize shot media according to the customer's needs, to make them as hard as HV 900 or more, or as soft as HV 150. We have also developed a coverage measuring instrument for checking the coverage of the work, and non-destructive testing equipment that uses positrons. [Representative's message] Our company specializes in the manufacturing and sales of the shot media used in shot peening processes, and we have been expanding the scope of our business in this field. We started to expand globally when we developed a long-life, high-durability shot in 2007, and we set up a second manufacturing site in Thailand in 2011. Now our production volume exceeds 12,000 tons annually. During that period, we worked hard under the slogan "Make Your Opponents Your Fans," and focused our efforts on various kinds of technology development to enhance the reliability of peening. As a result, we launched the world's first coverage measuring instrument, and began development of testing equipment that uses positrons. The first model was delivered recently. We hope to continue our various efforts to make more people our fans. [Company structure for market development/overseas expansion] Our company has recruited people who scored 900 points or more on the TOEIC test and set up an overseas sales department to enable direct trade with overseas customers. We are also recruiting technology development staff who can speak English, because we need to deal with Boeing. These efforts allowed us to conduct our Nadcap (audit on special processes in aircraft manufacturing) evaluation directly in English, and so we received good evaluation results. We are now following a curriculum to train a manager who has been assigned to a post in a local subsidiary in Thailand.
